Our Story
Three friends, one simple idea: making animal healthcare gentler.
From our first conversations to prototypes tested in the field, our story is above all a human adventure, guided by our love for animals and our desire to make a difference.
From the heart
Because, deep down, caring for an animal also means caring for the bond we share with them.
We are so passionate about Gellies because we know what it feels like... Those moments when you feel like "the bad guy" even though you only want what is best for them.
Those looks that seem to say "I trust you, why are you doing this to me?"... and break your heart.
We have been there, and that is exactly why we decided to find another way.
Not just a practical product, but a solution that brings gentleness and respect back to these moments.
We didn't stop at having an idea...
From the start, we knew that truly changing things would take more than good intentions.
So we rolled up our sleeves.
We worked hand in hand with more than 40 experts: veterinarians, pharmacists, behaviourists, researchers and professors.
We spent hours testing, adjusting and reformulating... until we found the perfect paste:
Delicious and irresistible for pets.
Malleable and easy to use for owners.
A simple recipe, made in Belgium with quality ingredients.
From our beginnings at UCLouvain, within the INEO entrepreneurial programme (ranked 2nd in the world by Eduniversal), we spent countless late nights brainstorming, shaped prototypes in our workshop, gathered expert feedback and tested our ideas in shelters.
We joined the ICE Louvain incubator, had a stand at the Libramont Fair, were recognised by the Louvain Foundation, pitched at Mind and Market and took part in many events to put Gellies to the test in the real world.
Every time, the feedback was clear: « It changes everything ».
Our mission
At Gellies, our mission is simple to say... but essential to fulfil:
to reconcile animals with their treatments, and people with this dreaded moment.
We believe no treatment should be an ordeal.
No cat or dog should associate "taking medicine" with force or fear.
And no owner should feel that mix of stress and guilt when all they want is the best for their companion.
That is why we created a solution that respects every animal's pace, instincts and tastes.
A solution that turns a struggle into a gentle moment.
Because caring also means considering the moment of administration: it means protecting the bond of trust we share with them.
